At the June 6 NJSIAA Meet of Champions, girls competing in the discus found the circle slick and the cage surrounding it offline at the Frank Jost Field in South Plainfield.

      Local reports of great fishing are no flukes
            Aboard the Capt. Dave out of Atlantic Highlands, first mate Brett tells me fluke fishing is the best in years, with a good number of keepers, even with the tightening of the size regulations to 17 inches. Bass fishing has slowed to about one fish per hour, though we are anticipating the arrival of another body of bass soon.

            The names on the stadium fence - Reggie Jackson, Sal Bando, Barry Bonds - let Brad Brach and the Monmouth University baseball team know that they had graduated to the big time. After capturing the Northeast Conference Tournament championship, and with it, the automatic berth to the NCAA Regionals, the Hawks waited to see where they would be assigned.
