      Beck calls for loss of liquor license
            Best Liquors has long been the center of controversy in Red Bank. After attending last week's hearing concerning charges against Best Liquors, I am more convinced than ever that the time has come to revoke their liquor license. Their repeated violations have become too frequent and in the interest of public safety, action must be taken immediately.

      Officials pass the buck on bridge demolition
            That Highlands drawbridge at the foot of the Twin Lights is a special place. Don't forget that the Twin Lights welcomed the immigrants to New York Harbor. It's an historic spot. It was once the brightest lighthouse in all of North America, and it sits atop the highest bit of land on the entire eastern seaboard.

      State lacks policy on aging drawbridges
            It's no wonder the proposed demolition of the Highlands-Sea Bright drawbridge has become such a controversy. That's what you get when the state Department of Transportation (DOT) doesn't even have a policy on what to do when the state's drawbridges get old.
