Historical Association's garden party July 22
      The Monmouth County Historical Association will hold its 32nd annual garden party July 22 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Sampson, Locust section of Middletown. The home's original structure dates back to 1798. The event will feature hors d'oeuvres, food stations, specialty cocktails and light jazz entertainment.

Audubon bird walk at Sandy Hook July 12
      The Monmouth County Audubon Society will lead an evening bird walk July 12 at 6 p.m. beginning at the visitors center at Sandy Hook (rain or shine). Attendees will be led by Audubon members to look for nesters and shore birds. Birds that may be seen include osprey, least and common terns, herons and egrets. The free trip is open to both members and nonmembers.

Changes under way at Downtown Antiques
      RED BANK - Downtown Antiques and Collectibles, a longtime fixture at 27 Monmouth St., is going to get a makeover. The most noticeable change is the name - Monmouth Street Emporium - the new name of the soon-to-be renovated space. "We are changing our name to better reflect our shop," said manager Kathy Kelsey.

Deborah Foundation casino trip July 19
      Red Bank Chapter of Deborah Hospital Foundation will sponsor a bus trip to Trump's Taj Mahal Casino, Atlantic City, July 19 from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Cost is $26 with a $25 casino giveback and $5 toward food. The bus will depart from Shrewsbury Plaza, Route 35 and Shrewsbury Avenue.

Free hot meal at area church July 13
      The food ministry at United Fellowship Baptist Church, 603 Third Ave., Asbury Park, will provide a free hot meal July 13 fro 5:30-7:30 p.m., and the second Friday of each month. The meals are provided with support from The FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties.

Republican Club to hold fundraisers for SPCA
      The Middletown Republican Club will accept monetary donations and sponsor a fundraiser for the Monmouth County SPCA July 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Stop & Shop, Route 35, Middletown; and July 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Dunkin' Donuts, Campbell's Junction section of Middletown.
