Dorothy Sullivan Coscia
Mrs. Coscia, 76, of Atlantic Highlands, died Aug. 17, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in New York City, she resided there prior to relocating to Atlantic Highlands in 1969. She was a wardrobe supervisor at Joffrey Ballet Company, New York City, for more than 30 years, retiring 12 years ago. She was a member of the Theatrical Wardrobe Union Local 764, New York City. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack in 1968. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Ann Coscia of Red Bank; two daughters and sons-inlaw, Arlene and Jules Mayeur of Montross, Va., and Cathy and Ron Lynch of Highlands; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
Catherine T. Dwyer
Mrs. Dwyer, 89, of Tinton Falls, died July 29, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Philadelphia, she resided in little Silver since 1962 prior to relocating to Tinton Falls. She was a retired clerk typist at Fort Monmouth for 20 years. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She enjoyed the ocean, needlework, reading, and travel. She was predeceased by her husband, William Dwyer in 19671; and two brothers, Jack and Bill Campbell. She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Rosemary and Charles Mothershed of Delran, Nancy Coquel of Little Silver, and Kathleen and Charles Hansen of Ocean; and five grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven. Interment was at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem Township, Pa. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Greater NJ Chapter, 400 Morris Ave., Denville 07834-1365.
Alice P. Cranston Rotchford
Mrs. Rotchford, 77, of Red Bank, died Aug. 10, 2007, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she resided in Westfield prior to relocating to Monmouth County in 1976. She was a member of Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven, where she was also a member of the Nifty Fifty Club. She also volunteered with St. Alfonso's Auxiliary, Love Inc. as a mentor. She was active in various charities and began and chaired the first can cer society ball in Union County. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, George T. and Robert F.; and a daughter, Alice. She is sur vived by four daughters and one son-in-law, Beth Rotchford of Belmar, Patricia and Carl Christiansen of the Oakhurst section of Ocean Township, Kathleen Pimpinella of Oceanport, and Bernadette Rotchford of Asbury Park; a son and daughterin law, Philip and Janet Rotchford of Rumson; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at Church of the Nativity. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Mid dletown.
Frank "Terry" Magovern
Mr. Magovern of Rumson died July 30, 2007. He was raised in Belmar. He was a per - sonal assistant to Bruce Springsteen the past 23 years. He was a four-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, completed Special Warfare Train - ing, and specialized in underwater demolition work. He was also assigned to work with the Mercury Space Program and the seven original Mercury astronauts. He was involved with the charity Holiday Express, and the Light of Day for Parkinson's disease research. He founded the Joan Dancy and Pals ALS support group at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, for his former fiancé that lost a battle to the disease. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Michael Guinan of Eatontown; a son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Andrea Magovern of Avon; six brothers, Dennis Magovern, Richard Magovern, Robert Magov ern, James Magovern, Brian Magovern and Patrick Magovern; two sisters, Lee Boydman and Mary Magovern; and five grandchildren. A memorial service was held at United Methodist Church of Red Bank. Arrangements were by Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. Lucy Scialfa Buono
Mrs. Buono, age 94, of Long Branch, died Aug. 17, 2007, at Jersey Shore Center, Eatontown. Born in Gagliano, Sicily, she moved to the United States at age 9, and resided in Long Branch. She was a retired children's sample dressmaker at Bentex Corporation, Freehold. Prior to that, she was a seamstress. She was a communicant of the Church of Precious Blood, Monmouth Beach, and attended Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. She was a member of the North Long Branch PTA, Long Branch Community Center, and the Active Seniors of Long Branch. She was predeceased by her husband John C. Buono, and a brother, Joseph Scialfa. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Dr. James Fiasconaro of Oceanport, and Joan and Anthony Chidoni of Los Angeles; two sisters, Frances West and Minnie Calcaterra, both of West Long Branch; and four granddaughters. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Church of Precious Blood. Entombment was at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. Arrangements were by Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch. Veronica "Ronnie" Murphy Goodnough
Mrs. Goodnough of Rumson died Aug. 2, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was a lifelong resident of Rumson. She was a secretary at the real estate and insur ance office of Dennis K. Byrne, Rumson. Dur ing World War II, she received a Certificate of Service from the United Service Organization (U.S.O.). She was a communicant of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson. She served on Rumson's election board several years and was awarded for her service. She was also a lifelong member of Rumson Wom an's Club. She enjoyed the beach, and dancing. She was predeceased by her husband, Rex E. Goodnough; a son, Gregory Rex Goodnough; and a sister, Marie Murphy. She is survived by three daughters and sonsin law, Veronica and Daniel Coviello of Delaware, Corky and James Johnson of Little Silver, and Pamela and David Waybright of Oceanport; two brothers and one sister-inlaw, John J. and Helen Mur phy of the Oakhurst section of Ocean Town ship, and Dr. Arthur F. Murphy, with whom she resided; a sister-in-law, Jane Murphy of Rumson; four grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Holy Cross Church. Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank.
