Park Players at the Paramount Theatre on the Asbury Park Boardwalk will present a one-night-only performance by the Elena Edwards Project Sept. 8 starting at 7:30 p.m. Edwards will recreate the sounds of masters of soul, funk and R&B. Sing along to classic songs including "Come Together," "Heard it Through the Grapevine" and more. Come dance, clap, and par-tay by the Shore. Tickets $15, $10 students and seniors. Auditions for the Junior Chorale (grades 2-6) will take place Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 6 p.m. Auditions for the Youth Chorale (unchanged voices, grades 7-12) will be held Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. Both divisions will audition at Middletown United Methodist Church, 924 Middletown-Lincroft Road, Middletown. The new Young Men's Chorale (changed voices, grades 7-12) will hold auditions Monday, Sept. 10 and 17, at 8 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 150 River Road, Red Bank A prepared piece is not required for the auditions, which will test voice range and compatibility. "Twenty Artists Remember 9/11, Six Years Later," featuring works by Guitarist Tommy Weindl riffs onstage at the Count Basie Theatre during the "Rockit! for Kids Summer Concert" Aug.26. Tommy comes by his stage presence naturally; his mother, Diana St. John, is the Basie's marketing director local artists, will be on exhibit at the Western Monmouth Branch Campus in Freehold of Brookdale Community College through Sept. 27. An artists' reception will be held Tuesday, Sept. 11, 5 - 7 p.m. Exhibiting artists include Ernest Antholis, Middletown Township; and William Imhof and Bob McKay, Eatontown. The Western Monmouth campus is located at 3680 Route 9 South. The free exhibit will be displayed in the Art Gallery, room 101, Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Fridays 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. For more information, call (732) 625-7005. "Open House" is the theme of the September exhibit at the Art Alliance of Monmouth County, 33 Monmouth St. in Red Bank. An opening reception will be held Saturday, Sept. 8, 6-8 p.m. Work by the Thursday Fiber Group will be displayed in the gallery windows. The Montclair Art Museum is accepting submissions for consideration to be exhibited in the New Jersey Arts Annual: Crafts through Sept. 15. The Arts Annual is a unique series of fine arts and crafts exhibitions highlighting the works of visual artists and craftspeople in the state. The juried show is open to any artist currently living or working in New Jersey. The exhibition theme will be "Tribal Roots in the Garden State." The exhibition will open Feb. 24. There is no entry fee. The Brookdale Community College Performing Arts Center, together with Cabaret for Life, will hold auditions for the musical "The Rocky Horror Show." All roles are open for ages 18 and over to audition Sunday, Sept. 16, from 1- 4 p.m. and Tuesday, Sept. 18, from 7- 10 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center, Lincroft main campus, 765 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft. Performances are Nov. 9 and 10. Prepare 16 measures of a rock/pop song and bring sheet music. Be prepared to dance; those auditioning for the role of Columbia should bring tap shoes.
