'All politics is local'

In spite of the lack of media attention, approximately 60 people attended the candidates' forum held in the headquarters branch of the Monmouth County Library in Manalapan.

They could meet the candidates, contrast and compare their qualifications and positions and make informed decisions about who deserves their vote.

The moderator, Judith Shachter from Somerset County, conducted the meeting in a cordial, friendly and impartial way. Consequently, the candidates were polite to the audience and civil to each other.

This is an important way to be informed about local races. Remember, "All politics is local."
