      The New Jersey Commission on Holocaust Education and The Center for Holocaust Studies at Brookdale Community College will present "The Persistence of Genocide: A Century of Human Destruction," a conference designed to train teachers to educate students on the atrocities of genocide.

Alzheimer's caregiver support meetings slated
      The Alzheimer's Association, Greater New Jersey Chapter will hold a caregiver support group meeting Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. at Kensington Court, 864 Shrewsbury Ave., Tinton Falls. A meeting will also be Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. at Bayshore Hospital, 727 N. Beers St., Holmdel.

      Sandra DeLuccio, a registered nurse with the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey (VNACJ), Red Bank, has been named 2007 Hospice Nurse of the Year by the New Jersey Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NJHPCO). Roberta Bamrick, a VNACJ volunteer, has been named NJHPCO Hospice Volunteer of the Year.

      The Art Society of Monmouth County has announced its annual Merit Award and Exhibit for high school seniors will be Jan. 12-26 at Monmouth Beach Cultural Center, 128 Ocean Ave. Applications must be postmarked by Dec. 27, and applicants will receive letters of acknowledgement with further instructions.
