Freeholders adjust dates of final 2007 meetings
      The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders has rescheduled its final meetings for 2007 and has set the date of its reorganization meeting for 2008. The last regular meeting of the Board of Chosen Freeholders will be held at 5 p.m. Dec. 18 at the Hall of Records. The workshop meeting will also be rescheduled and held earlier that day at 1 p.m.

Red Cross offers tips for survival during storms
      The storm that brought snow, sleet and slush to the Northeast recently serves as a reminder of the dangers of harsh winter weather. According to the American Red Cross, in addition to frigid temperatures and hazardous driving, storms also increase the risk of power outages as heavy ice and snow weigh down power lines and trees.

Foundation's 'Holidays at Lodge' begins Dec. 3
      The New Jersey Foundation for the Blind will offer "Holidays at the Lodge" for blind or visually impaired adults to hand-craft holiday gifts for relatives or friends. The program is designed to help students regain self-reliance and self esteem. Two oneweek sessions will be offered from Dec. 3-14 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Foundation's Diamond Spring Lodge, Denville.

      The National Multiple Sclerosis Society Mid-Jersey Chapter hosted its annual Women Against Multiple Sclerosis (WAMS) luncheon in late September, and raised more than $115,000 for programs and services for individuals living with MS and MS research.
