Kickoff reception for ALS gala April 25

A kick off reception for the 12th annual "Field of Hope Gala" will take place April 25 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Commerce Bank, Shrewsbury Avenue, Shrewsbury. The 2007 gala to help strike out amytrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) or Lou Gehrig's disease will be Sept. 29 at South Gate Manor, Freehold.

The free reception will be attended by Phil Villapiano, Rumson, former player for the Oakland Raiders and Buffalo Bills. Attendees are asked to bring loose change to drop in the penny arcade at the bank with proceeds benefiting ALS research.
