Local team to compete in 'World Series of Birding'

The Cheep Trills team of Monmouth County Audubon Society, Red Bank, will take part in the 24-hour "World Series of Birding" May 12. Teams nationwide compete in the event. trying to find the most bird species in 24 hours.

Cheep Trills was the 2006 champion in the limited geographic area category. A field of more than 20 other teams will take part this year. Teams are sponsored by individuals and various companies. Cheep Trills is birding to benefit the Monmouth County Audubon Society's community outreach programs. To make a pledge or for more information, visit www.monmouthaudubon.org.
