Chapter to hold support meetings, conference
The Alzheimer's Association Greater New Jersey Chapter will hold a support group meeting May 9 at 7 p.m. and May 28 at 10:30 a.m. at Kensington Court, 864 Shrewsbury Ave., Tinton Falls. Meetings will also be May 15 at 7 p.m. at Bayshore Community Hospital, 727 N. Beers St., Holmdel; and May 24 at 7 p.m. at Brighton Gardens, 620 Route 35 south, Middletown. The Alzheimer's Association will host its 2007 education and research conference, "New Directions in Research and Care," May 11 from 8 a.m.-4:45 p.m. at Doubletree Hotel and Executive Meeting Center, Somerset. It will feature Alzheimer's disease expert John Morris, M.D., director of the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center. He will provide insight into how new trends in research offer promise of treatments for the future. Other speakers include Tommy Hays, author of "The Pleasure Was Mine," and David Troxel, co-author of "The Best Friend's Approach to Alzheimer's Care." There will also be approximately 50 exhibits by area health-care-related organizations and corporations.
