'Cinco de Mayo Adopt-A-Thon' May 5, 6

The Monmouth County SPCA Shelter, 260 Wall St., Eatontown, will hold a "Cinco de Mayo Adopt-A-Thon Weekend Celebration" May 5 and May 6 from 1-5 p.m.

The free event will feature flamenco guitar music, prizes and activities. Representatives from the House Rabbit Society, Greyhound Rescue and other humane groups will be on hand to provide information and answer questions. SPCA adoptions counselors will also assist attendees interested in adopting from the shelter.

Plans under way for annual Arc Walk

The Arc of Monmouth, Tinton Falls, has announced the ninth annual "Step Up for The Arc Walk" will be May 19 at 9 a.m. at Liberty Park II, Tinton Falls. The event will also feature complimentary breakfast and lunch, children's crafts, music, clowns and activities.

The fundraiser will take place in conjunction with The Arc of New Jersey and 19 chapters statewide. There is no fee to enter, but a $50 donation will get walkers a T-shirt. Preregistration is suggested.
