Residents: Say no to parking lot

TINTON FALLS - A application for a proposed parking lot at the corner of Hance Avenue and Apple Street is to be heard by the Zoning Board of Adjustment tonight.

Residents living within 200 feet of the lot were noticed, as required, about the proposal by T&T Realty Associates, owner/developer and operator of the Red Bank Veterinary Hospital, which is located on the opposite corner, that they would like approval for an overflow parking lot for 83 or so cars.

The applicant is seeking a use variance and any further required variances because a parking lot is not a permitted use in the residential (R-4) zone. The property currently contains a two-story residence and garage, which would have to be demolished.

Some residents distributed a flier over the weekend urging residents to a voice of disapproval of the proposal at the meeting, which begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Municipal Center, 556 Tinton Ave.
