Notes Around Town The Red Bank Elks Lodge welcomed 15 new members recently including: Tim P. Carr, Edward Holian, John H. Horl, Michael Rodriguez, Ben Rielgelman and Joseph Spagnoli of Red Bank, David W Dalton, Tim Martinsen and Herbert A VanNote of Long Branch and Ryan Timmons of Fair Haven. ***** The Seniors of Little Silver will resume meeting at the clubhouse on Church Street Tuesday, May 22 at 1 p.m. The Middletown Ramblers Square Dance Club will demonstrate square dancing techniques and there will be audience participation. In addition, there will be a book sale. No textbooks, please. Hardcovers $1, paperbacks 50 cents. Tuesday, June 26 will be the annual summer picnic luncheon at which installation of new officers and committee chairpersons will take place. The Fitness for Seniors program has resumed every Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the clubhouse. "Bringing Joy to Life" through music, dance, poetry, and the spoken word will be the theme of the program, which is sponsored by the Red Bank Family Support Center. Tickets are $15, seniors $10, children $5. There will be a live auction, a silent auction, 50/50 raffle and door prizes. The preview and silent auction begin at 6 p.m. The live auction will begin at 7 p.m. Proceeds of the evening are a major source of funds for the upkeep of the National Historic Landmark and its local community outreach programs. There will be an artist reception on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at which people can meet Christine and Tom Cardaci, photographers and local authors of "Lighthouses and Lightships of America - The Hunters Guide." On May 9, Christine Cardaci will be signing copies of the book and giving a lighthouse presentation at Borders, 135 Route 35 in Eatontown, 7-9 p.m. ***** The English Music Hall tradition continues with this year's presentation by the English Speaking Union, Monmouth County Branch, on June 10, 5-8 p.m. Staged at historic Bingham Hall in Rumson, this tradition involved turn-of-the-century British Music Hall songs and recitations; humorous patter songs, sentimental ballads and audience participation in sing alongs. Silly verse and serious monologues are featured as well. Queen Victoria reigns for a few hours on this day and those who attend will find wine and song and dinner, all for the low price of $50 (tax deductible).
