A celebration of all things chiseled, shaped & formed
SICA unveils urban sculpture park in Long Branch

Human kenetics
The Shore Institute of the Contemporary Arts in Long Branch will officially unveil an urban sculpture park and orchestrate a host of related sculpture events Saturday throughout the City of Long Branch.

At the center of the arts events will be "Sculptoure," an urban sculpture park comprising over 25 major artworks scattered throughout downtown Long Branch and the oceanfront area. The works will be in place through Oct. 14. A map of the sculpture park and a schedule of the day's events are available on the Web site www.sica.org.

In conjunction with "Sculptoure," SICA has arranged a one-day, mind-expanding immersion in the various forms sculpture can assume, including sand, audio, body, kinetic, hair and body sculpture.

Events will also include a reception for "High Relief," SICA's first statewide high school sculpture competition, and The Art of Hospitality cocktail party.

SICA is located at 20 Third Ave. in a converted canning factory off Broadway in downtown Long Branch. For more information, call SICA at (732) 263-1121 or visit www.sica.org.
