Obituaries Matilda Ryser Borden Mrs. Borden, 97, of Little Silver, died June 4, 2007, at Gateway Care Center, Eatontown. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she resided in Kane, Pa., prior to relocating to Little Silver in 1925. She was employed at Little Silver Mike's and at W.T. Grant until the company closed. Mrs. Borden was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Little Silver. She was a member of the Fair Haven Seniors. She was predeceased by her husbands, Archibald Wright and John W. Borden; a daughter, Joan Wright; all of her siblings, George, John and Pearl Ryser, Elizabeth Adelhoch, Madeline Schachinger, Eva Mayer and Violet Wynn; and a granddaughter, Suzanne Foster. She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis McIntyre of Denton, Texas, and Nancy Foster of Oceanport; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held June 7 at 1:30 p.m. at St. John's Church. Interment will follow at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements are by Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. Theresa "Mary" Collins Harylka Mrs. Harylka, 78, of Holmdel, died June 4, 2007, at Overlook Hospital, Summit. She resided in Hoboken and Jersey City prior to relocating to Holmdel. She was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and word games. She was predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Stanley "Stash" Harylka; three daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret "Peggy" and Andy Herchakowski of Shrewsbury, and Nancy and Lenny Sass, and Catherine and Jimmy Colby, all of Holmdel; a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Sue Harylka of the Leonardo section of Middletown; a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Ray Grubowski of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and eight grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Ann's Church, followed by entombment at Holmdel Cemetery. The John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, was in charge of arrangements.
Elvina H. Phipps Mrs. Phipps, 78, of Rumson, died May 31, 2007, at Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation, Red Bank. Before her retirement, she was a receptionist at a Rumson doctor's office for 12 years. Mrs. Phipps was a member of Rumson Presbyterian Church and the Rumson Woman's Club. She was predeceased by her husband, William M. Phipps. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Mulligan of Rumson; a sister, Roberta Lovaty of South Carolina; and two grandchildren. A memorial service was held at Rumson Presbyterian Church. Arrangements were by the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. Memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Rosemary Wenzell Terry Mrs. Terry, 86, of Oceanport, died May 29, 2007, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. She had resided in Satellite Beach, Fla., prior to relocating to Oceanport. She was a nurse at Monmouth Memorial Hospital, Long Branch, from 1941 to 1942, and left to travel the world with her husband, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Lawrence Terry. She was a communicant of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, West End section of Long Branch. She enjoyed music and dancing. Mrs. Terry was predeceased by her husband in 1995; and a brother, John. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and James R. Clapper, undersecretary of Defense of Intelligence; a sister, Margaret "Peggy" Henneberry; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Michael's Church. A funeral service will be held July 26 at Arlington (Va.) National Cemetery, followed by interment. Edward J. Radzik Mr. Radzik, 71, of Tinton Falls, died June 4, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Red Bank prior to relocating to Tinton Falls. He was employed at Karsu Distributors, Freehold, for 20 years, retiring in 2002. Prior to that, he was a machine operator at Western Electric, Kearny, for 30 years, retiring in 1984. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed time with his family, and trips to Atlantic City. Mr. Radzik was predeceased by a sister, Mary Nowakoski. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Radzik; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael E. and Rose Radzik of Groveland, Fla., and Richard J. and Eldra Radzik of Tinton Falls; two daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and John Oliveras of Ocean Township, and Theresa and James Hughes of Oviedo, Fla.; and seven grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Interment was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank.
