Family Day at Two River Theater

RED BANK - Two River Theater Company (TRTC) will present its third annual Family Day with live performances and free events designed especially for kids ages 3-13 Saturday, June 16, noon to 3 p.m. Family Day will feature a variety of entertainment including kid karaoke, theater games, magic, and much more. Paper Moon Puppet Theatre will perform "Sleeping Beauty." Improv Jam will lead children in the creation of hilarious scenes on the spot, and Aesop's Fables will be performed by Long Branch High School's Westwood Players Ensemble.

The fun continues with TRTC teaching artists leading children in theater games, children will have the chance to dress up in costumes on the stage in the Joan and Robert Rechnitz Theater for photos, and Latin-flavored kids' music will be performed by Mamborengue.

In addition, there will be face-painting, mask-making, balloon sculpture clowns, a strolling magician and raffle prizes.

For the first time, Family Day will include a community information expo where parents can learn about services and programs designed for children and families. Local not-for-profits offering free health care, after-school programs and family support services will be on site to hand out materials and answer questions.

Among the organizations slated to participate are The Parker Family Health Center, Aslan Youth Ministries and the Community YMCA.
