Let the KaBoom! countdown begin

KaBoom! Fireworks on the Navesink will be held in Red Bank on Tuesday, July 3. This annual show draws as many as 170,000 people and is an extraordinary celebration of community and country.

Again this year, the world-renowned, award-winning Garden State Fireworks will orchestrate a world-class pyrotechnics display of more than 4,000 pieces of fireworks, synchronized to an eclectic selection of simulcast music.

Local band Brian Kirk and The Jerks will begin the countdown to the fireworks, performing in Marine Park from 4-7 p.m. Jobonanno & The Godsons of Soul will perform on the Marine Park stage from 7-10:30 p.m.

Tim McLoone and The Shirleys will entertain the crowd on the Riverside Gardens stage from 7-9 p.m. with a mix of popular songs along with patriotic fare. Get there for the warm-up by Koka from 5-7 p.m.

On July 3 committee member Les Hathaway and fellow Monmouth Boat Club members Crissie Van Siclen and Commodore Todd Edwards will be out on the river soliciting donations from the many boat parties always present for KaBoom!

Boats collecting donations will be on the Navesink from 3 until 8 p.m., with KaBoom T-shirts available for sale as well.

Become a supporter of KaBoom! by making a donation toward the cost of the annual pre-Independence Day community celebration by visiting the Web site at www.kaboomfireworks.org or sending a check to P.O. Box 155, Red Bank, NJ 07701.
