Parents grateful for emergency response

We would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Tinton Falls Police, emergency medical services, paramedics, emergency room staff at Jersey Shore University Medical Center and the skilled 911 operator who answered our initial call for help.

On the evening of June 22, our 3-year-old son experienced a febrile seizure. Needless to say, as parents, this was a frightening and overwhelming experience.

Upon calling 911, the operator patiently guided us as to what steps we should take in caring for our son until emergency personnel arrived.

Within seconds, a Tinton Falls police officer was at our door fully prepared to assist. Shortly thereafter, volunteer EMS and paramedics arrived and took control of the situation.

These professionals were highly trained, cohesive in their efforts and genuinely concerned for our son's well-being.

After being transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, we received the same superior service from the entire emergency room staff.

Residents of Tinton Falls should feel secure in knowing we reside in a community where our police officers and EMS volunteers are well-prepared, skilled and diligent.

But more importantly, concerned for the citizens they represent and serve.

Again, we would like to thank Tinton Falls Police Officers Kyle Pierson and Susan Wallace, Tinton Falls EMS volunteers Bob Harvey and Colleen Connolly, MONOC paramedics, and the emergency room staff at Jersey Shore.

We are blessed to live in a community where people really do care.

Michael and Dina Ocasio
