Police seek suspects in sports store robbery RED BANK - Three men were seen fleeing a Shrewsbury Avenue clothing store after a burglary occurred Sept. 3 at 2:15 a.m., according to a borough police press release. Twenty "Playerz" jerseys and 19 pairs of Low Rider and Ben Davis pants were stolen from Sports Variety Luna, located at 92 Shrewsbury Ave., according to police. After Red Bank police had responded to the store "for a report of the sound of breaking glass," officers found that the front store window had been broken by a large rock that had been thrown through it, according to a Sept. 6 press release. Some of the jerseys that were taken had "Los Angeles" on the front and "LA" on the back, others had the wording "Southside" on the front and the No. 13 on the back and one of the jerseys was white with black sleeves with "Playerz 67" on the front and the No. 67 on the back, according to the press release. Police said the three suspects were seen running away from the area carrying large amounts of clothing in their arms and were heading into 50 Locust Ave., an apartment complex. The suspects are described as three Hispanic males. The first suspect was wearing a white T-shirt, the second a black T-shirt and the third a black sports jersey with the No. 55 or 56, according to police.
