The announcement was made by Shrewsbury Mayor Emilia M. Siciliano who proclaimed September as National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month in Shrewsbury. For more information, call (732) 918-2600. ***** The Shrewsbury Borough Police Department in collaboration with 180 Turning Lives Around, Hazlet, is recruiting volunteers for its Domestic Violence Response Team. The team works in conjunction with the police to provide support, information, referrals and a safety plan to the victim at the time of crisis. Applicants must be 18 or older, have access to transportation, possess a valid driver's licenses, be willing to serve on an on-call shift basis, and submit to a background investigation and fingerprinting. Volunteers must complete a 40-hour training course from Oct. 15 to Nov. 7, Monday- Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. in Belmar.
