Felix Joseph Turtur III

Mr. Turtur, 88, of Shrewsbury, died Sept. 2, 2007, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in New York City, he resided in Elizabeth, Asbury Park, and Fair Haven for 42 years, prior to relocating to Shrewsbury in 2000. He was chief real estate officer for the United States Postal Service, retiring in 1981. Prior to that, he was head of family housing at Fort Monmouth, Eatontown. He served with the U.S. Army for one year in 1940, returned to active military service following the attack on Pearl Harbor, and was honorably discharged in 1945. He was a member of the Fair Haven Elks Club, and Board of Education. He enjoyed swimming, cooking, and time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Agnes Maffey Turtur; a daughter, Marlane Turtur Bade of Fair Haven; a brother, Mario Turtur of Houston; and two grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Entombment followed at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Greater N.J. Chapter, 400 Morris Ave., Denville 07834-1365.
