Lunch Break benefits from culinary event In honor of its 20th anniversary, the James Beard Foundation launched the Taste America national food festival, which recognizes the diversity of American cuisine. On Sept. 27, at David Burke's Fromagerie in Rumson, a fundraising dinner for the James Beard Foundation was held as part of the Taste America celebration. At Lunch Break, we were thrilled to learn that a portion of the evening's proceeds would be donated to our organization, which serves 26,000 hot meals a year to hungry residents in the Two River area. We believe David Burke's Fromagerie and the James Beard Foundation appreciated the relationship between five-star dining and local families who can't afford to buy groceries. Lunch Break is extremely grateful to David Burke's Fromagerie, the James Beard Foundation and the sponsors of the fundraiser, including Williams Sonoma of Short Hills. The participating chefs included the wonderful David Burke, and Bob Sickles of Sickles Market, which has supported Lunch Break wholeheartedly for decades. On the cusp of Lunch Break's own 25th anniversary, we remain indebted to the community that invigorates our mission and uplifts our spirits. We're so proud to be associated with the pinnacle of fine dining that is David Burke's Fromagerie. Dan Petrocelli President Board of Trustees Lunch Break Red Bank |
