Obituaries Alfred E. Pound Mr. Pound, 88, of Little Silver, died Oct. 11, 2007. He was a partner and co-owner of Lectro Product Inc., Englishtown. He served with the U.S. Air Force in the Pacific theater during World War II. He was a 50-year member of Little Silver Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 and served as its president, and helped establish the Little Silver First Aid Squad. He was a life member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Workers. He was a 16- year member and president of Little Silver Board of Health Services. He is survived by his wife, Anna Marchant Pound; a sister, Pat Raff Elliott of Manchester; two nieces; and three nephews. A funeral service was held at St. John's Episcopal Church, Little Silver. Arrangements were by Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. Loretta Spagnolo Sacco Mrs. Sacco, 74, of Spring Lake, died Oct. 15, 2007, at home. Born in Fondi, Italy, she resided in Deal before relocating to Spring Lake three years ago. She and her husband owned Sacco's Restaurant in West Long Branch and Deal. She was predeceased by a brother, Luigi Spagnolo, in 1944. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Anthony T. Sacco; a son, Michael A., three daughters and two sons-in-law, Barbara and Nicola Lini, Annah Sacco, and Gina and Pasquale Cuppari; her siblings, Franco, Vincenzo, Carlo, Maria, Concetta, Carmina and Anna; and three grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. Entombment was at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. Arrangements were by Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch. Scaliti Mr. Scaliti, 75, of Middletown, died Oct. 11, 2007, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided there before relocating to Middletown 35 years ago. He was chief auditor at Royal Bank of Canada, New York City, for 35 years, retiring in 1987. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown, where he served as a lector. He played softball with the St. Leo Holy Name Society, Lincroft section of Middletown, for 30 years. Mr. Scaliti is survived by his wife, Eileen; three sons, John of Westfield, Mark of Middletown and Matthew of New Brunswick; three daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Mark Grewe of Shrewsbury, Coryn and Charles Henry of Hopewell, and Nadine and Ron Jackman of Hazlet; 11 grandchildren; two sistersin law; and a brother-in-law. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Mary's Church. Burial was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Mr. Brennan, 94, of Rumson, died Oct. 16, 2007, at Imperial Care Center, Neptune. Born in Burlington, he resided in Bloomfield, and Livingston prior to relocating to Rumson. He was a special agent with the IRS for 30 years, and Chief Investigator in the Criminal Justice Department of the New Jersey State Attorney General's Office for 10 years. He served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Retired Office's Association, and a six-year representative for Rumson Senior Citizens Club on the Monmouth County Council. He as predeceased by his first wife, Lydia Meehan Brennan in 1974. He is survived by his wife, Teresa; a son, John P. and Janice Brennan III; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson. Arrangements were by Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank.
