Accident leads to driver's arrest

RED BANK - At 3:02 a.m. Sunday Red Bank police responded to a one-car motor vehicle accident on East Front Street just east of Spring Street.

Vincent Sedita, 33, of Metuchen, a driver of a Ford pickup, was traveling west on Front Street when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road, according to police. Sedita's truck left the roadway striking a utility pole and a guardrail. Sedita, who was alone in the vehicle, complained of a minor arm injury but refused medical treatment. He was placed under arrest for allegedly driving under the influence.

East Front Street was closed for several hours while JCP&L replaced the downed utility pole. Fair Haven Police Department and the Red Bank Fire Police assisted at the scene.
