For the Record

After having the measure on the books for six months, the borough of Red Bank repealed a keg registration ordinance Nov. 26 at the request of the state Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC).

An article in the Nov. 21 issue stated that the ordinance was approved at the Nov. 12 Borough Council meeting. It appeared on the agenda at the Nov. 12 council meeting for a first reading and was approved at the Nov. 26 council meeting after a second reading and public hearing.

Tinton Falls Board of Education President Peter Karavites started an e-mail campaign to gain support for correcting the language in a current state law concerning the borough's agreement with the U.S. Navy to educate students living at Naval Weapons Station Earle in Colts Neck.

An article in the Nov. 21 issue incorrectly reported that the focus of the campaign is to change the wording of Tinton Falls' 1988 contract with the Navy when in fact the BOE is trying to correct the law so it reflects the contract.
