Lantern Tour, holiday bazaar in Shrewsbury Dec. 7, 8

SHREWSBURY - Christ Church will hold its annual holiday bazaar Dec. 7 and 8 in conjunction with the annual Historic Four Corners Lantern Tour Dec. 7.

The bazaar will be open 5-9 p.m., Friday, Dec. 7, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8, in the parish house, 380 Sycamore Ave.

On Dec. 7, the Lantern Tour will provide a trip back in time to Shrewsbury in centuries past. Costumed guides will provide an informative look at four venues: Christ Church; the Presbyterian Church at Shrewsbury; Shrewsbury Friends' Meeting; and the Allen House, once a colonial tavern.

Those who take the tour will have an early touch of the yuletide as members of the Christ Church choir sing Christmas music while tours assemble.

There will be two tours: at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Cost is $15 for adults, $8 for children under 12, and $6 each for those in youth groups of 12 or more.

The Christmas Bazaar has lined up many offerings. There will be an array of vendors. Gift certificates to area restaurants will be one

feature of a silent auction.

Poinsettias and

a selection of crosses

and memorial ornaments

will be available.

Children will

have their own table

where they can buy

gifts for parents and friends. Trinkets and Treasures will provide a smorgasbord of lightly used knickknacks and other items.

There will be refreshments at the bake shop with its delectable array of goodies, and in the food court, providing sustenance for hungry lantern tour-goers and bazaar visitors. The food court will serve supper 5:30-8 p.m., Dec. 7, and lunch 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Dec. 8. Supper will be soup and chili or a hot dog. Lunch will be soup and a choice of lasagna, hot dog or chili and a salad. Soft drinks will be provided. A table of slightly used books will offer food for the mind.

For Lantern Tour reservations, call (732) 747-0612.
