New RFH Film Club launches movie night series

RUMSON - There is a new option for movie lovers in the Rumson-Fair Haven communities. Rumson-Fair Haven (RFH) Regional High School has begun a new Film Club that will sponsor a Movie Night each month during the school year.

Beyond screening well-known films, the series will give students a forum to showcase their own short-film productions.

The first Movie Night will be Thursday, Dec. 13, in the RFH auditorium at 6:45 p.m.

Not only will the program serve as the debut event for the new club, it will also be dedicated to local filmmakers. Monmouth County resident Michael Attardi, who has won many awards for his short animated film "Once Upon a Christmas Village," will be present to show his film and host a question-and-answer session with the audience afterward.

Following his segment, Tim Burton's

"A Nightmare Before Christmas" will be shown. Award-winning filmmaker C. Henry Selick, a member of the RFH class of 1970 who was inducted into the RFH Hall of Fame in 2001, directed this stopmotion animated film.

Admission is free and movie style concessions will offer refreshments. For more information, contact Dana Maulshagen, Film Club adviser, at (732) 842-1597 or dmaulshagen@rfhrhs.org; Lauren Grumbach, club adviser, lgrumbach@ rfhrhs.org.
