Benefit pays tribute to Clearwater volunteer
Friends Of Helyn Chrobocinksi and www.Al-VisMusic.com are hosting "Only Remembered: A Tribute to the Life of Helyn Chrobocinski" Jan. 6, 3 p.m. to closing, at The Headliner, Route 35, Neptune.

A founding member of Monmouth County Friends of Clearwater, Helyn passed away in October. She devoted her life to working for the environmental group and to the musicians, artists and volunteers who supported the group. Through her work and the work of others she inspired, the modern day environmental movement was born. She was also a talented musician and music-lover, handling the entertainment for the Clearwater Festival from its beginnings in the 1970s to this summer's festival.

In doing so, she formed deep bonds with scores of local and national performers who performed at the festival and other environmental events throughout her lifetime.

Many of these performers will be on hand at the Jan. 6 benefit to celebrate her life: Al-Vis, Blackberry Blues Band, Chik-A-Boom, Dan Einbender, Spook Handy, Billy Hector, Lackawanna Rail, Mel & Vinnie, Big Nancy, Virago, and many more to be announced.

Admission will be a suggested donation of $15, which will include food, door prizes and a gift auction.

Donations may be sent to: Friends Of Helyn Chrobocinski, c/o Art San Filippo, 12 Leland Terrace, Tinton Falls, NJ 07724-2810.
