Tax help, book discussion at Shrewsbury Library

Trained volunteers from AARP Tax- Aide will be available at the Eastern Branch of the Monmouth County Library, 1001 Route 35, Shrewsbury, to provide free income tax preparation assistance Mondays through April 15 from 9 a.m.- 8:30 p.m.; Tuesdays-Thursdays from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; and Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m.-noon.

The assistance is on a first-come, firstserved basis. Participants should bring last year's returns with them.

S.C.O.R.E. counselors to small businesses will provide free, confidential, oneon one counseling for owners and would-be owners of small businesses Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings duringApril. Call to schedule an appointment. Volunteers from State Health Insurance assistance Program (SHIP) will answer questions on health insurance and Medicare/Medicaid April 15 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

The Monmouth County Library is celebrating its sixth year of participation in the One Book New Jersey, a program sponsored by the New Jersey Library Association and New Jersey State Library encouraging patrons to read and participate in discussions and other events about the same book. One Book's adult title, "The PlotAgainstAmerica" by Philip Roth will be discussed April 8 at 10 a.m., April 9 at 7:30 p.m., and April 10 at noon. The program is free of charge.
