Rude awakeniing
      Cars were dropped from a crane to simulate a crash at 65 mph as part of the "Rude Awakening" program held April 30 at the Marine Academy of Science and Technology on Sandy Hook. The program is designed to teach high school students about the dangers of drunken driving and provide them with the tools to avoid becoming victims.

Local schools' arts programs recognized
      The Monmouth County Arts Council will hold its 2008 Art in Education Showcase and Awards Presentation at the Middletown Art Center, Thursday, May 15, 6-9 p.m. The annual awards program recognizes creative arts programming, talented faculty and arts infused schools in Monmouth County.
