      Annual 'Step Up for The Arc' walk May 17
            The Arc of Monmouth will hold its 10th annual "Step Up for The Arc" walk May 17 at Liberty Park II, Tinton Falls. Registration will be held at 9 a.m. and the walk will start at 10 a.m. There is no fee, but walkers with donations of $50 or more will receive a free Tshirt. Walkers may also pay $50 and have a part of the walk dedicated to an individual.

            Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, will present "Balancing Stress with Relaxation Techniques" 7-9 p.m.May 15 at the Tatum ParkActivity Center, Red Hill Road, Middletown. Participants will learn how to let go of stressful thoughts and receive instruction in simple relaxation techniques.

            The New Jersey Marine Sciences Consortium (NJMSC), Sandy Hook, will present the fifth annual "Ocean Fun Days," May 17 at Island Beach State Park, and May 18 (rain or shine) at theNJMSCHeadquarters. The free events will run from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

      Sessions offered by First Tee begin May 19
            The nonprofit First Tee of Monmouth and Ocean Counties at Colonial Terrace Golf Club, Ocean Township, broke ground April 10 for a learning center at the golf club. The First Tee is open to youngsters ages 8-17. Sessions begin May 19. Golf skills are taught by trained golf professionals, and life skills are part of each lesson.

      'Preventing Osteoporosis' talk at SCAN May 28
            Monmouth Medical Center, will present "Preventing Osteoporosis," May 28 from 1-3 p.m. at SCAN Learning Center, Monmouth Mall, Eatontown. Presenters will be Mutahir Abidi, M.D., medical director of the Center for Arthritis and Rheumatological Disorders at Monmouth, and Nanette Deleon, registered dietician at Monmouth.
