Cosimo "Sam" Gentile
      Mr. Gentile, 82, of Freehold, died May 15, 2008, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. A decorated U.S. Army veteran, he participated in the D-Day invasion of Normandy at Omaha Beach. Mr. Gentile was a bricklayer before starting a 25-year career with the City of New York as an expert witness in building codes and safety.

      Mr. Foschi, 86, formerly of Philadelphia, diedMay 19, 2008, in Shrewsbury. He was a retired employee of the federal government in Philadelphia. He is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Lida and Anthony Del Vecchio of Shrewsbury; a nephew; and two nieces. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank.

      Mrs. Francy, 85, of Cheshire, Conn., died May 20, 2008, in Cheshire. She resided in Matawan for 40 years and in Red Bank prior to relocating to Cheshire in 2007. She was a retired assistant stockbroker at Isley, King, LaBare and Stout. She was predeceased by a sister, Margaret O'Donnell. Mrs. Francy is survived by her husband of 60 years, Edward R. Sr.

      Mr. Nicholson, 84, of the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge, died May 24, 2008, at RiverviewMedical Center, Red Bank. He was a retired truck driver with Teamsters Local 469, Hazlet, and a ready-mix driver at Colonial Sand and Stone Co. for 14 years. Following retirement, Mr. Nicholson was a custodian for the Matawan Board of Education for 10 years.

      Mr. Kenworthy, 96, of Howell and formerly of Oceanport and Colts Neck, died May 11, 2008, at his home. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Kenworthy was the owner and trainer of thoroughbred horses, retiring 35 years ago. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marie; a son and his companion, PaulW. Kenworthy Jr.
