St. James School receives award from Diocese
      The Diocese of Trenton's Foundation for Student Achievement has awarded $15,000 to Catholic schools in four counties in New Jersey to fund professional development and special projects for the 2008-09 school year. St. James, Red Bank, received a $1,500 award following a submission by Francine Byrne and Susan Signoriello, fifth-grade teachers.

Memorial Foundation to host barbecue, Ryan's Run
      Pre-race registration and a family barbecue for the second annual Ryan's Run will be held 6-9 p.m. June 20 at Mountain Hill School, 724 Kings Highway, Middletown. Event hosts are the Ryan Andrew Kaiser Memorial Foundation and Outback Steakhouse of Middletown.

Daylily Day to be held June 28 in Middletown
      The Monmouth County Park System and the Garden State Daylily Growers will present Daylily Day June 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Deep Cut Gardens, 352 Red Hill Road, Middletown. Early cultivars will be displayed, and bare-root and potted daylilies will be for sale at the free event. There will also be cultural advice, handouts and catalogs.
