Riverside Gardens Park hosts R.B. summer series

RED BANK - Riverside Gardens Park is alive this summer with the Red Bank Summer Series featuring movies, dancing and concerts.

The free series offers entertainment for all ages. "We bring free family entertainment to the park nearly every night of the week," said Bob Evans, director of Red Bank Parks & Recreation and organizer of the free series.

Start the week with Red Bank Tango on Monday evenings, enjoy Movies in the Park on Tuesdays, Doo-Wop Wednesdays, Jazz in the Park on Thursdays and Songwriters in the Park on Friday evenings.

There's a new element to Tuesday night Movies in the Park that showcases local entertainment for preshow enjoyment. Catch Surf 's Up on July 22 and "Water Horse: Legend of the Deep" on July 29. Thundercheese performs prior to the screening of "Transformers" on Aug. 5; "Spiderman 3" will be shown on Aug. 12. Performances start at 7 p.m., with movies beginning at dusk.

Put on your dancing shoes for Doo-Wop Wednesdays. RB Express performs favorites from the 1960s, 1970s and beyond on July 30 and Aug. 6, 13 and 20.
