Applications are now being accepted for enrollment in the 14th annual Citizen Police Academy held at the Monmouth County Police Academy, Freehold Township. Classes begin Sept. 18, and the deadline to apply is Sept. 8. Applications are available to Monmouth County residents age 21 or older who have no criminal record. Enrollment is limited. The academy is designed to give attendees an overview of law enforcement services in Monmouth County and features presentations by various public safety agencies. The course consists of seven two-hour sessions, 7- 9 p.m. Thursdays. Graduation is Nov. 6.

The fee is $20 for books and certifications for the basic first aid and CPR courses offered as part of the program.
