Audubon bird walk at Tatum Park Sept. 20
      Monmouth County Audubon Society will hold a bird walk 9 a.m. Sept. 20 at Tatum Park, Red Hill Road, Middletown (rain or shine). The bird walk will be led by Bob Henschel, president of the Society, who works for the Monmouth County Park System at the Manasquan Reservoir. Attendees will walk a portion of one of the park's trails looking for birds.

      The Freehold Soil Conservation District is sponsoring a photo contest for those who can capture subjects promoting the beauty and uniqueness of the natural environments found in Monmouth and Middlesex counties. Wildlife, landscapes, natural resources, agriculture, people interacting with the environment and waterscapes are suitable subjects.

Deep Cut Orchid Society to meet Sept. 9
      Deep Cut Orchid Society will hold its next meeting 7:30 p.m. Sept. 9 at Monmouth Reform Temple, 332 Hance Ave., Tinton Fall s Guest lecturer will be Michael Bowell from Create a Scene. There will also be a show table of flowering orchids grown by members, refreshments, a plant raffle and door prize. Guests are welcome at no charge.
