'Bike for the Basie' Sept. 20 at Sandy Hook
      "Bike for the Basie," a noncompetitive bicycle tour to support Count Basie Theatre, Red Bank, will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 20 at Gateway National Recreation Area, Sandy Hook. Rides will begin at Fort Hancock at the north end of Sandy Hook. Two routes will be offered.

Cut-a-thon for Michael's Feat slated for Sept. 28
      Peter Conte Salon and Spa, 128 Main St., Matawan, will host a cut-a-thon for Michael's Feat from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 28, during which 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit the nonprofit Michael's Feat. The Michael Gerard Puharic Memorial Fund Inc.
