      Long Branch football gets washed away
      Green Wave gets shut-out at home by RBC
            After waiting five years to host a football game, Long Branch High School squandered its opportunity to enjoy the moment, losing 28-0 to Red Bank Catholic, and in the process, watching its record fall to 0-2. RBC (1-0) took the wind out of the Green Wave's sails, as the Caseys recovered a fumble on the opening kickoff.

      Hey Chub wins Lincroft Handicap
            It was a busy day at Monmouth Park on Saturday, as the New Jersey Thoroughbred Festival showcased some of the Garden State's top horses in a action-packed 10-race card. When it was all said and done, Hey Chub took the Lincroft Handicap, Paradise Tonight won the Jersey Girl Handicap, and the Eleven North Handicap went to Way With Words.

      RBC harriers expect to be contenders
            These are pretty good times for Red Bank Catholic cross-country. The girls, long one of the elite programs in the state, return four of their top five harriers from last year and five of the top seven for new coach Rob DiFilippis.
