Hockhockson property is worth preserving

I am disappointed that the Tinton Falls Borough Council is not making progress on preserving the beautiful Hockhockson property. It is so lovely and pristine. If you haven't seen it, you should. It has the best hollies in town. Beech trees there are magnificent, as are the native laurels. The fauna is great, too — raptors, owls, fox and deer to name a few. It is a wonderful place to enjoy the Pine Brook (a good buffer for the watershed), which feeds our namesake, the Tinton Falls.

Maybe the council and CFO should consider a resolution to bond for a lesser amount. The folks who feel it is not worth $525,000 would be satisfied and it would represent a good-faith effort on our part to save the land from being developed in any capacity. What do we have to lose? If it is rejected, then we can discuss the cost/benefits and value from a more rational perspective.

I appreciate the open debate going on on this issue. It is great to be engaged in an issue without negativity.
