Mended Hearts group to meet Oct. 23
      Mended Hearts will meet at noon Oct. 23 in room B104-105 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. The group is a support organization consisting of heart patients, families, health professionals and other interested individuals. A light lunch will be served at the free meeting. 'Re-Tail Therapy' for WOI slated for Oct. 16
      "Re-Tail Therapy," a ladies night out of shopping and cocktails will be held 7-10 p.m. Oct. 16 at Raven & The Peach, River Road, Fair Haven. It will feature products from Cedar Street Market. The benefit for the nonprofit Wag On Inn (WOI) Animal Rescue Group will be hosted by Fair Haven residents and WOI foster volunteers, and co-founders Adrienne Gnassi and Kathy Miles.

Students' artwork at library in October
      Matawan Public Library, 165 Main St., is displaying artwork by students of Monmouth County Arts High School during October. The arts program is in its fifth year and offers gifted and talented students the chance to take classes in dance, vocal music, acting and other subjects.
