Students at Ranney Middle and Upper School, Tinton Falls, organized a "green" dress-down day in conjunction with the fall convocation on Oct. 7 and raised $2,000 for Clean Ocean Action and The New York Times' Neediest Cases fund. The fundraiser was sponsored by the school's Environmental Students Taking Action (ESTA) Club.

In exchange for a small donation, students were permitted to forgo wearing their uniforms for the day in favor of allgreen attire. ESTA officers presented the check to the convocation's keynote speaker, Andrew Revkin, reporter for The New York Times.

The Garden Club R.F.D. will again take part in the annual holiday exhibition at the Monmouth Museum, Brookdale Community College, Lincroft. The "Celestial Holiday" exhibition will explore the wonders of outer space in trees decorated by local garden clubs and the Friends of the Museum. The exhibit will run Nov. 23- Jan. 4.
