"Now You Shall Deal With Me" by Mike Kupka "Now You Shall Deal With Me" by Mike Kupka John Padovano will appear at Mister C's Beach Bistro, 1 Allen Ave. in Allenhurst, at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7. The Fair Haven vocalist will be performing songs from his albums "Innocent Waters," "Novelette Diner in B-Flat" and "The Dusty Road Session."

The Spotlight Players will present "Pippin," a musical that presents the not-so-historical account of the son of Charlemagne through lively songs and complex dance numbers. Performances are Nov. 14, 15, 21 and 22 at 8 p.m. and Nov. 16, 22 and 23 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $18, $15 for seniors and students. All performances are at the First Presbyterian Church of Matawan, located at the intersection of Route 34 and Franklin Street (three blocks from Main Street in Matawan). Internationally acclaimed pianist Vladislav Kovalsky is the featured artist at a gala event on Sunday, Nov. 16, to benefit the New Jersey Chamber Singers. The benefit will be held 4-6 p.m. at the Jumping Brook Country Club, 210 Jumping Brook Road, Neptune. Kovalsky will perform Robert Schumann's "Carnaval." A champagne reception and dinner will follow. The Last Whippoorwill Band will perform at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 9, at the Middletown Arts Center, 36 Church St. in Middletown. The band is a traditional bluegrass band that specializes in covers of the classic tunes that made the genre famous during the 1940s, '50s and '60s. The band includes Harry Chadwick on guitar, Joe Fili on fiddle, John "Chubby" Conine on mandolin, Carl "Earl" Baron on five-string banjo, and Jeff Propert on stand-up bass. The bluegrass concert will be followed by a Q&A session with the musicians. Tickets are $10 and are available at the MAC box office at 732-706-4100, and at the door. There is free parking across the street at the train station parking lot and in the lot adjacent to the Arts Center. The $20 general admission ($10 for seniors) will include a "meet the artists" reception following the performance, with proceeds to benefit ArtsCAP. The Monmouth County Arts Council will present a DigitalWorkshop at 630 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Monmouth Museum, on the campus of Brookdale Community College in Lincroft. Animated villains, ghosts, goblins and ghouls will haunt the walls of Cel-ebration! Gallery in Red Bank, where original art and limited-edition pieces created by Disney artist Mike Kupka and gothic artist and author Gris Grimly will be highlighted through Nov. 15.

Animation cels and drawings representing the scarier side of the cartoon world, such as gallery favorite Jack Skellington from "The Nightmare Before Christmas," are included in the show's mix.

A guest appearance by Kupka, who is well known for his paintings of Universal Studios monsters, is scheduled for 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15. Cel-ebration! is located at 30 Monmouth St. in Red Bank.

Playwright and performance artist Stephanie Satie brings her play "Coming to America - Transformations" to the Middletown Arts Center at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15. This moving one-woman show takes the audience on a journey into the lives of nine fascinating women who are of varying ages, religions and countries of origin. Satie moves from character to character seamlessly with spot-on accents, physical demeanor and appropriate musical accompaniment. MAC is located at 36 Church St. in Middletown.
