'Focal Point' fine arts photo show at Guild
"Sandy Hook Lifeguard Station" The November exhibit at the Guild of Creative Art features fine arts photography by more than a dozen local photographers.
"Focal Point: An Exhibit by 13 Photographers," curated by Laury A. Egan, features more than 100 archival fine art photographs by many of the area's outstanding professional photographers. Egan's selection criteria for this show emphasizes a painterly approach — strong composition, creativity, individual vision and technical proficiency — while de-emphasizing the subject-specific orientation found in many photographic exhibits.
Show participants include Sally Behler, Neptune, Pasquale Cirullo, Red Bank, Valerie Craig, Middletown, Egan, Highlands, Jim Ferris, Port Monmouth, Jean Finnila, Freehold, Bob Grunke, Matawan, Trudy Maran and El McCarthy, Allenhurst, Jim Powers, Oakhurst, David Segelstein, Aberdeen, Paul Staniforth, Holmdel, and Warner White, Fair Haven.
The show will run through Dec. 3 at the Guild of Creative Art, 620 Broad St., Route 35, Shrewsbury. Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, noon to 4:30 p.m., with evening hours Thursday until 7 p.m.F
