Audubon Society to meet, hold bird walk
Monmouth County Audubon Society will meet 8 p.m. Dec. 10 at Trinity Episcopal Church, White Street, Red Bank. The public is welcome to attend the free meeting.
Naturalist Mark Garland will present "Tropical Birds Do The Coolest Things" at the meeting. The multi-media presentation will look at behavior of birds. Refreshments will be provided.
The Society will host a bird walk 10 a.m. Dec. 13 beginning at the visitor center on Sandy Hook. Birds that may be seen are snow buntings, yellow-rumped warblers and hawks. The free walk will be led by several Society members, and is open to both members and nonmembers. Participants should dress appropriately for the weather, wear comfortable shoes and bring binoculars and field guides.
