Shrewsbury Borough School's fifth annual Holiday Bazaar to benefit the eighthgrade class will be held 7-9 p.m. Dec. 5 at the school, 20 Obre Place. Clothing, jewelry, cosmetics, house wares, foods and other items will be offered. There will also be door prizes. Admission is $3 for adults and free for children. Presbyterian Church at Shrewsbury, 352 Sycamore Ave., will host a green Christmas bazaar, "Let Heaven and Nature Sing," 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 6. The event will feature holiday greenery, Santa Claus, jewelry, books, Christmas decorations and other items. The Christmas gift market will support the Heifer Project. Tinton Falls resident Jillian Schulz recently received the Arthritis Foundation's Valor Award at the foundation's 2008 volunteer recognition event. The award honors a volunteer who lives daily with arthritis or rheumatic disease and touches the hearts and minds of others living with the pain and limitations of arthritis. Diagnosed with arthritis at age 14, Jillian got involved with the Arthritis Foundation through the Arthritis Walk, and her family formed a team for the Arthritis Foundation's Jingle Bell Run, raising approximately $2,500. She was also the 2007 Youth Hero for the Lake Como Jingle Bell Run/Walk, and in the position, volunteered in fundraising, passing out fliers, putting up posters, and speaking at events and to the media.

The Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey Hospice will hold a dinner-dance Dec. 6 following its holiday house tour on Dec. 5 to benefit the hospice program.
