Fair Haven Rec winter events
      Fair Haven Parks and Recreation will sponsor a night skiing trip Jan. 24 to Camelback Ski Area in Pennsylvania; the bus will leave at 12:30 p.m., and skiing will be 4-10 p.m. Lessons are available, but equipment rental must be done locally.

      The board of trustees of The FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, Neptune, elected its officers for the upcoming year in mid-October. Kevin McHugh, Manasquan, and COO of The Atlantic Club, Manasquan/Red Bank, was elected as chairman of the board.

Hospice volunteer training begins Jan. 16
      Saint Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center (SBHPCC) will host 15-hour training programs for individuals interested in becoming a hospice volunteer. Training will be 6:30-9 p.m. Jan. 16 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Other dates will be Jan. 23 and 30, and Feb. 6, 13 and 27 (no class Feb. 20).

Camp Sunshine Polar Dip slated for Jan. 31
      Camp Sunshine will present the third annual A.J.'s New Jersey Polar Dip at 2 p.m. Jan. 31 at Avenue Beach Club, 23 Ocean Ave., Long Branch. Participants must raise a minimum of $100 in pledges, with all proceeds benefiting Camp Sunshine for children with lifethreatening illnesses. Prizes will be awarded to the top fundraisers and costume winners.
