Dorothy Ashman Wolverton

Mrs. Wolverton, 93, died Dec. 25, 2007, at home. Born in Newark, she moved to Matawan 71 years ago. She was Matawan's first art teacher and continued to teach there until retiring in 1977. Mrs. Wolverton was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Matawan and recently became a regular visitor of the First Baptist Church of Matawan. She is survived by a son a daughter-in-law, Clark and Wendy Wolverton of Matawan; a daughter, Lynn Falvo of Tinton Falls; and five grandchildren. A funeral service was held at Bedle Funeral Home, Matawan, followed by entombment atWoodbridgeMemorial Gardens.
