Hospice, bereavement groups offered by VNACJ

VNA of Central Jersey (VNACJ) Hospice, 1100 Wayside Road, Tinton Falls, is offering "Understanding Caring: Understanding Hospice," Feb. 21 and 28, and March 6 and 13 from 1-4 p.m.

The free program is for individuals that have considered being a hospice volunteer or simply want to learn more about the hospice philosophy. Topics include rewards and responsibilities, communication, pain management and the grief process. To register or for more information, call Pauline at (732) 224-6933 or email pdepalma@vnacj.org.

"Women GrievingMothers," a bereavement support group for women grieving the death of a mother will be offered March 8, 15, 22 and 29 from 9:30-11 a.m. at VNA, 176 Riverside Ave., Red Bank. The free sessions are led by Rosemarie Reilly, MA, certified bereavement counselor.

Bereavement support groups for children and adults will be offeredApril 7, 14, 21 and 28; and May 5 and 12 from 3:30- 4:30 p.m. at the VNACJ hospice. The free program is for children age 6-9 who have experienced the loss of a significant person. An adult bereavement support group for parents, guardians or any adult who has experienced the loss of a loved one will be held at the same date, time and location as the children's bereavement support group.
