Eliminate golfing fees by selling county courses
(Letter to Monmouth County Freeholder Director Lillian Burry)

Less than 10 percent of the county residents are golfers, so it would seem fair and just to eliminate all golfing fees by selling off the county golf courses. Why should 90 percent of the taxpayers subsidize the fun and frolic of so few? Where does the county get the legal right to compete with the taxpaying courses?

How much of our money does the county take to operate these government golf courses? Please include county employees' salary, welfare, and pension plans, all operating charges and the taxpayer's original cost to purchase all of these numerous properties. Now calculate the estimated revenue we could reap from selling them off and adding them back onto the tax rolls where they belong.
